Lia is a one of the finest freeriders in the game and after an incredible 2018 winter season, we’re excited to hear how she’s utilizing summer down time.
I plan to surf, wakesurf, wakeboard and climb as much as possible. They’re all really fun sports and super helpful for the pre-season training. It’s also the best way to have that sliding sensation and feel all your body and the balance of it.
I have my own physical trainer and mental coach. It’s more because it don’t really have a team for freeriding. For example, we don’t have a Swiss Freeride team.
Unfortunately not. First because it’s really expensive so I prefer to save my money for the winter here, and second also because I like to be here. It’s the time of the year I can spend time with my family, work, do art, and explore my other passions and sports.
I hope so. I actually really like Zermatt and every year they build an amazing summer park. I like the park and the fact that we are in the middle of the summer and still can ride. it’s amazing and everybody is chill and there to have good times. However, I need to take it easy jumping due to my knew operation – I’m waiting on the doctor…
So for me is cycling, yoga and climbing. I mean it’s what I need for myself and the perfect pre-season training.
Oh wow! I have a lot of goals and a lot of projects going on! I will stay in Nendaz (Switzerland, Valais) and be riding in many competitions.
I want to be back on the Qualifier and be stronger than ever before. After two really hard seasons, I would like to give it my absolute best and learn more and more. I’ve never been more motivated.
I have a filming project I’m working on about limits. It will be about you and your limits; how and when to say stop, and doing some crazy lines that I never imagined before.
Last season I didn't think I’d be able to do a lot of freeriding, but I finished the season with descents of Bec des Rosses in Verbier. It was unbelievable, so now I want more because I know I can do it.
