If Money Was no Object - Where Are You Headed?

If Money Was no Object - Where Are You Headed?

Where we’d go if money was no object

Following a recent poll we did on Facebook, most of our followers would choose an epic week in Europe over North America. Here’s where we’d go on an unlimited budget…

Our week of European excess would begin in Courchevel, two days slashing powder across the three valleys by day, and working our way through the resorts famed restaurants by night.

It’ll be early starts to get fresh powder in this region though and as the best areas become tracked out, we’d take a privately chartered helicopter over to Chamonix.

Chopper Around

Our chopper will provide us with fast and easy access into some of the prime entry points near the classic Aiquille du midi. This well worn route in Europe’s most famous resort still stands as one of the best lines in the world, despite its popularity.

We’d heli across to Morzine in the evening to catch an ice hockey match before heading out into town at Bar Robinson and The Dixie.

Waking late the following morning we’d head to the Burton Stash, a line through the trees that’s home to a range of obstacles made from logs and trees. Here you’ll hit everything from escalator rails and rainbows made from a single tree, through to log piled wall rides, tree stump jibs and kickers.

Easy Access

We’d have our helicopter pick us up on the Swiss side of Avoriaz and whisk us over to Verbier. Naturally, we’d stay at the W Hotel and rest our weary bones in the spa.

We’ll need to, because tomorrow is all about the descents. We meet at the heli at 6.30 with one of the best mountain guides in the area, his true identity needs to be hidden, but we’ll call him Stig.

Stig helps us navigate Verbier by heli and puts us into some well hidden, off the beaten path chutes and gives us inside information to help us get the most fun out of our lines.

We’d end the day with a drop at the top of Pigne D’Arolla to get one last, super long run as the sun goes down.

W Hotel - If money were no object

Leaving Verbier thoroughly tracked out, we’d refuel in town before heading over the border into Austria. The last part of our go-for-broke week in Europe will be spent exploring the Tirol.

Heading straight into St. Anton, we’d hole up in a mountain chalet where we’d venture out among the trees for thick pillow lines, and get some nice long leg burners in Oberlach.

Austrian Luxury

That night, we’d head over to Mayrhofen in Zillertal for a night in The Scotland Yard Pub, followed by the Schlussel Alm. With bleary eyes the next morning we’d have an easy day cruising through the Penken park, or taking the adjacent 150 Tux gondola to ride the spiney fingers of Wanglspitz, perhaps one of the most easily accessible backcountry lines in Europe.

With high spirits, sore muscles and a seriously fractured Amex, we’d head home out of Innsbruck on a private jet because hey, money is no object right?
