Jamie Barrow Britain's Fastest Snowboarder
Jamie Barrow, Britain's fastest snowboarder, who broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest speed on a snowboard while being towed by a vehicle (a Maserati Levante) in St. Moritz, Switzerland in 2018, is the most recent athlete to join team FLŌA.
Later this week Jamie plans to break his own world record and become the fastest snowboarder on the planet by riding in excess of 200+ kph on an expedition up to Norway.
New World Record Attempt
Jamie, whose documentary on snowboarding in North Korea has received over 7 million views explains the motivation for his next adventure;
“I want to go faster than anyone has ever been on a snowboard and after months of planning we are now just days away.
As speed snowboarding downhill is now banned we need to use a car and we are preparing a 4km purpose built track in the midst of the Arctic circle.
All my strength conditioning is now done and I can’t wait to get up there with the film crews, break another world record and show what’s possible on a Snowboard”
Fastest Snowboarder On Earth?
The driver for the attempt is Top Gear and Grand Tour regular Niki Falkner who has been involved in the expedition preparations including car testing, tyre testing, aerodynamics as well as the physical and mental training.
Founder explains Fergie Miller explains FLŌA's support of the expedition;
"We're delighted that Jamie has chosen FLŌA as his base layer partner for his World Record attempt and beyond.
Pushing the limits and taking sports to new levels, whatever the discipline, goes right to the heart of what our two active wear collections are about.
We wish Jamie the best of luck in Norway in becoming the fastest snowboarder on earth."
Jamie join British athlete Jack Gower (British Downhill Ski Champion) and Maisie Potter (British Snowboard Cross Team) on FLŌA’s elite athlete team.
