The winter season is in full flow
Temperatures are low. Piste are hard-packed and groomed. Off-piste is chalky and fun. Powder stashes are findable. Travel is possible.
When France announced that it would allow UK travellers, we thought... YES! Snowboarding and skiing in the Alps is really back on and it feels like it won't be stalled again.
If you haven't planned your winter mountain excursion yet, here is a rundown on the current rules** from the UK to some of the best ski destinations in Europe.
France
Entry regulations: Vaccinated travellers free to travel. All travellers must have a PCR or antigen test 24 hours prior to travel.
Non vaccinated must have a compelling reason to travel. (Maybe with the right border official, shredding some pow might be accepted.)
Proof of vaccination is required to ride chair lifts and enter bars and restaurants.
Italy
Entry regulations: Vaccinated travellers allowed to travel. You must fill in a passenger locator form.
Negative PCR test 48 hours prior to travel is also required.
Non vaccinated travellers must produce the same and isolate for 5 days after arriving.
Switzerland
Entry regulations: Vaccinated travels must fill out PLF and have a negative PCR 72 hours before travel.
Unvaccinated travellers in addition must complete a second test 4 days after arrival.
